Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

[ English ]

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve last poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus often plays in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is penniless, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I think television can alter our view of the real world at times. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen playing web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in money games?
