Poker has become globally acclaimed recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several types on the earliest poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling 21 than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the bank instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier saying "No more bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other gamblers receive 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you have to either make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s value is akin to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your wager goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, plus a figure on par with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The bank pays chips equal to your initial bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:

• Equal for a pair or high card
• 2-1 for two pairs
• three to one for 3 of a kind
• four to one for a straight
• 5-1 for a flush
• 7-1 for a full house
• twenty to one for a four of a kind
• fifty to one for a straight flush
• one hundred to one for a royal flush
